The only reason you should get redirected with a new session ID is if you didn't provide one or if the one you provided had already been assigned to another user. ? The reason for this seems to be that the same application is accessed through different URLs (the user enters the host name in the browser, but the redirect is done via a numeric IP). It seems that whenever I use owa_util.redirect_url to redirect to another page in my application Apex decides it has to assign me a new Session ID resulting in another login prompt.
